Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a mandatory requirement for all users of the eBrief Ready platform. In addition to your username and password, 2FA requires an additional verification step to confirm your identity. Even if someone obtains your password, they cannot access your account without this second step.

2FA options #

You can set up 2FA using one of the following methods:

Authenticator app (recommended)
Use an app such as 1Password, Authy, Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator. Each time you sign in you will generate a one-time passcode from the app.

SMS
Receive a one-time passcode via SMS to your registered mobile number each time you sign in.

Backup code
A one-time backup code is provided when you set up 2FA. Use this if you are unable to access your authenticator app or SMS. Store it in a secure location.

How to enable 2FA #

  1. Log in to your account and click the Welcome menu in the top right corner
  2. Click Your Account and then click Security & Privacy in the left menu
  3. Select Enable two-factor authentication
  4. Select your preferred method — Authenticator App or SMS
    • If using an app, scan the QR code with your phone and enter the one-time passcode
    • If using SMS, enter your mobile number and enter the one-time passcode sent to you
  5. Once complete, you will receive your backup code

Note: Users at a firm where Azure AD integration is enabled do not need to set up 2FA, as they are covered by their system login verification.
