# My Court Book exceeds the size allowance

If you are having trouble uploading your court book to the court because it exceeds the maximum file size — for example, the Magistrates Court system allows uploads up to 50GB only — you have two options:

## Option 1 — Compress the file

Use a PDF compression tool or document optimiser to reduce the overall file size before uploading.

## Option 2 — Split the court book into parts

1. Open the matter and go to **Setup**
2. Tick **Enable consecutive document numbering across all folders**

This ensures document numbering continues seamlessly from Part 1 to Part 2.
3. Create the first court book and select the first half of your folders — this is **Part 1**.
4. Create a second court book and select the remaining folders — this is **Part 2**.

Always check the size of your court book before uploading. If needed, repeat the process above to split the court book into further parts.
